Introduction

The „Legal Clinic”-initiative of the University of Szeged, Faculty of Law was started in 2005 as a result of the acknowledgment of the possibilities and international success of similar efforts. Primary aim of our Legal Clinic is to provide remedy or legal redress for those in need or handicapped, besides keeping in touch with representatives and members of local interest-groups and civil organizations.

It is possible for the students of the Szeged Faculty of Law as well to join the work of the Legal Clinic, as the sessions of the Legal Clinic are available for them to attend as part of the curriculum’s alternative courses. The sessions are held under the surveillance of tutor teachers (usually members of the Faculty or adjunct professors) in small groups for those who are interested in discussing and analyzing cases related to discrimination and in dealing with clients’ claims; this way broadening the legal points of view of the participants and to familiarize them with the challenges of the practice.
