University of Szeged, Faculty of Law Where knowledge and challenge meet

Faculty of Law and Political Sciences  --  Faculty Units  --  Institute of Comparative Law

The Mission of the Institute

The new Millennium has resulted in new challenges for the Hungarian higher education, including the legal education. The Faculty of Law of the University of Szeged does everything to meet these challenges. Our ambition is to preserve our uniqueness and to engage into the European scientific and educational community that we became members of in 2004.

The Institute of Comparative Law contributes to the fulfillment of these purposes with the education of Introduction to Comparative Law and the related courses, and with the organization of foreign language trainings of the Law School.

The Institute currently organizes the Anglo-Saxon Law and English Legal Translation Training and the German and European Economical Law and German Translation Training. The Institute also offers a Comparative Law Program, in which foreign Erasmus students have a chance to study about the Hungarian, French, German, English and American legal systems in English, German and French languages.
