The European Law Moot Court Competition (ELMC)

ELMC"moot, meet and compete"

The European Law Moot Court Competition (ELMC) has become one of the largest and most respected international student moot court contests since its establishment in 1988. Besides its continuous and intensive development in Europe, now already regularly come student teams of universities in USA to compete as well. The location of this English and French-speaking European law-student competition varies each year. Its rank indicates by, that it enjoys official support of not only large international law firms, but also the European Council, the European Commission and the European Court of Justice.

Welcome message by the president of the organizer European Law Moot Court Society (ELMCS) to the participants of 2011/12:

Since 1988, the European Law Moot Court Society has worked ardently to offer European Law students to meet and compete.

Throughout these 20 years, thousands of students have taken this opportunity to develop legal skills, pushing towards excellence in European Law.

Supported and hosted by Universities all over Europe, the Competition is widely recognized as one of the most efficient ways to learn European Law and legal practice in general.

With solid roots established in most European Countries, the Society is experiencing unprecedented institutional growth, as it expandes into the U.S.A. , while still furthering it´s development in Central European Countries.

This growth is direct consequence of the constant, firm, long lasting support offered by our sponsors, supporters and contributors that, year after year, helped us make the Competition what it is today.

The result is an worldwide learning institution, based on a large, solid and fast growing knowledge-based network, that offers EC law students an opportunity to excel in themselves as students, but also as persons by meeting with other students in the field.

This is your opportunity, do not waste it: jump into the Competition!

Kind regards,

Dr. Bartolomeu da Costa Cabral

ELMCS

President
