The international conference titled ’The Trend of Crimes in the Global Era and a Critical Review and Transcendence of Traditional Penal Theories and Systems’ as the 4th session of the International Forum on Crime and Criminal Law in the Global Era (IFCCLGE) was held in Beijing.
The international conference titled ’The Trend of Crimes in the Global Era and a Critical Review and Transcendence of Traditional Penal Theories and Systems’ as the 4th session of the International Forum on Crime and Criminal Law in the Global Era (IFCCLGE) was held in Beijing, China on 1-3 December, 2012 with the participation of 16 countries’ delegations.
Hungary was represented by three colleagues of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the University of Szeged. As the statement of the Hungarian delegation, Zsanett Fantoly overviewed the Hungarian criminal penalty system in general; Zoltan J. Toth spoke about the abolition of capital punishment in Hungary; and Zsuzsanna Juhász delivered a lecture on the legal institution of life-long imprisonment. As a final conclusion of the conference, the Board of Directors cordially declared: the Forum is aware that the abolitionist road is not easy, nonetheless, all efforts must be made in order to reach abolition of the death penalty as soon as possible.
